SC929 Interface Cable, CS I/O to RS-232

Overview

The SC929 is a cable interface between a datalogger and a computer. One end of the cable connects to the datalogger's CS I/O port. The other end connects directly to the 9-pin serial port of a computer.  The SC929 does not provide optical isolation, so it should only be used with laptop computers running from internal batteries (not connected to ac power).

Detailed Description

The SC929 cable connects the data logger's CS I/O port directly to the 9-pin serial port of a battery-operated laptop. It converts the CMOS logic levels of the data logger to the RS-232 logic levels of the laptop. The SC929 does not provide electrical isolation, so it should only be used with laptop computers running from internal batteries (not connected to ac power).

Communications with a data logger over CS I/O utilize Modem Enable mode (ComME). It does not provide Synchronous Device Communication (SDC).
