For this version of the 03002, the cable has instead of pigtail, a mil-spec connector for attachment to the MET200. Cable length is 3 meters.
The 03002-MET2 uses a cup wheel assembly to measure wind speed. Rotation of the cup wheel produces an ac sine wave that is directly proportional to wind speed.
Wind direction is sensed by a potentiometer. With the precision excitation voltage from the datalogger applied to the potentiometer element, the output signal is an analog voltage that is directly proportional to the azimuth angle of the wind direction.
The 03002-MET2 includes a CM220 right angle bracket for mounting to a crossarm. A 1.2m crossarm is provided as standard in the MET200 Core Unit.
