What are you best known for?
Wearing tropical onesies on Fridays. Sailing in high winds. Less known for my love of bridges and structures in general.
What has been your journey so far?
I had a steep learning curve coming out of a civil engineering degree but once I became familiar with the programming language and electrical equipment used by the company I have been able to work on a wide variety of projects that interest me. Now I am the GeoStructural lead and responsible for running training courses for clients.
Why did you apply to work at Campbell Scientific Australia?
The variety of industries and work that CSA does is unlike any other role I had seen. Even looking outside of Townsville, there was nothing similar offered. I liked the idea of working on projects that aren’t boxed into a single industry/category. I also wanted to develop my skillset in programming and technology/electronics - and I still am!

What are you best known for?
Being the youngest person of the team and my love of fishing and boating. It is great to work with people with a variety of ages and backgrounds, there is a lot to learn from others knowledge and experience.
What has been your journey so far?
So far my time at CSA has been a long journey full of fun and learning. Coming from a science and physics background, there was and still is a lot for me to learn about programming, instrumentation and communication equipment. The role is forever growing and expanding, and there is always something new to learn. It is great to see how physics theories and knowledge are applied in my day-to-day job, when it comes to creating a solution for a customer. It is very fulfilling to know that our solutions that I have a hand in creating are being used to help people make decisions and monitor environments, all around the world. I know there is a lot more to learn, with the help of the very supportive team at CSA, and I am very keen to see where my role will take me.
Why did you apply to work at Campbell Scientific Australia?
I have always had an interest in environmental physics, from meteorology and climatology to oceanography and even renewable energies. Throughout my study, I also developed an interest in the agriculture and mining industry. So when I first heard of Campbell Scientific and dug deeper into what we do, to find such a wide variety of applications in one job, was an opportunity that could not be missed. As Campbell Scientific is a world-wide company, it would be expected that the Australian office, be located in one of the countries major cities. To find such an opportunity in a city like Townsville, was another reason why a North Queensland local like myself could not miss this opportunity.
