Overview
The 10184 should be purchased when only one 12 cm rod needs to be replaced. (Order 18591 when two 12 cm rods are needed.) Water content is averaged over the length of the rod. Therefore the reading from a probe with 20 cm rods inserted vertically into the soil surface will be the average value for the top 20 centimeters of soil. Probe rods may be inserted at an angle to reduce the measurement depth.
